[GAP Forum] How to construct complex field?

Hi,everyone!
I  am  a new man in this field. I want to know how to construct complex field using GAP.

I also want to know how to construct all irreducible modules of a algebra $A$ over a field $k$. 

Is there a textbook on GAP,besides reference manual?
