[GAP Forum] generic character tables

I need to produce
generic character
tables, that is,
character tables
for linear groups
over a field of size
$q$, where I actually
want to use the symbol
$q$ in place of some
number.

CHEVIE apparently does
this, but it seems
to require version 5
of Maple, which I can't
find anywhere.
My network administrator
has version 6. Will
this work? 

Otherwise, does anyone
know how I might do this?
